What's Changed?

Effective January 1, 2022, the Bernalillo County minimum wage is $9.45. However, the State of New Mexico Workforce Solutions minimum wage supersedes Bernalillo County’s minimum wage and is the prevailing wage. This wage is $12.00 per hour worked.

For tipped employees, the minimum hourly wage is the state minimum of $3.00. If the tipped employee’s hourly rate does not equal or exceed $12.00 per hour with tips, the employer shall pay the employee the difference between the wage received and $12.00.
